Bermondsey Tonic Water looks like Thames river water – from the Victorian era, and even creates soapy bubbles in its bottle (see above).

Appropriately enough, it is made by the Thames, just round the corner in Bermondsey. BTW is (by the makers’ own account) the UK’s ‘first handcrafted tonic syrup, made with naturally occurring Quinine, from the bark of the Cinchona tree. BTW is left part filtered for a smoother and more authentic taste’.

According to them, it’s best mixed with soda for an authentic Gin & Tonic. But I like the double whammy of tonic and tonic. Once you’ve tried BTW you’ll always want your G&T murky orangey-brown – just like a Victorian smile : )
